I always wanted to learn how to play the guitar so in between a tour with the United States Air Force I heard about an opportunity to learn from Charley and I pursued it. I literally just picked up the guitar and didn’t know the chords very well so I didn’t know what to expect. When I met Charley, I realized that these next would of weeks were going to be awesome! He was very personable and flexible with my schedule, he was always willing to help and he had patients, which was very important to keeping my drive to play guitar. On top of having solid character, he was an amazing guitar player and extremely musically talented! I decided to start learning the acoustic guitar at age 50 with just a love for the instrument’s sound and no guitar and no previous lessons. Charley was wonderful from the very beginning. He met at a used guitar store where we spent over 2 hours checking out the guitar inventory to find the best one for me. Wow, who spends that much of their personal time to help someone that they just met? Well, that’s Charley … a kind, giving person who enjoying helping people and loves music. He took extra time when we first started to find out where my daughter was at in her skill and ability, made a book and plan for her, and the took extra time each week to answer every question and really try to teach her effectively. I have known Charley for quite a few years now. He has taught three of my sons to play guitar, both acoustic and electric. Charley himself is a very good guitar player. But it is his easy going personality and the way he relates to the kids that make him the best guitar teacher we could have ever had. My sons have their own band that plays out in public and they are all on worship teams. They have also played at multiple youth conferences in Ohio and North Carolina.
